See the dress that Princess Leia wears to marry Han Solo, thanks to new 'Star Wars' adventure

Move over, Jennifer Lopez and your trio of wedding dresses, we now have something even more out of this world: the first look at the gown Princess Leia wore to wed Han Solo — and it's absolutely perfect for the Star Wars heroine.

Author Beth Revis writes about the moment that Leia's groom saw her at their ceremony in the new officially sanctioned book Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel, which was released this month from Random House Worlds.

"Leia wore a gown made of soft meadow green, embroidered with flowers similar to the ones bedecking the outside of the temple," Revis writes, per the audiobook obtained by Yahoo Entertainment. "It hung loose over her body, yet it wasn't shapeless. The sides were open, giving her space to move her legs and expose the laces of her white fur boots that went all the way up to her knees. She held a bouquet of wildflowers tied with the same bit of lacing woven in her hair, and Han suspected that Leia had picked the flowers just before she'd climbed the ladder to the temple."

The concept art for the dress was exclusively shared on Monday by Variety.

The hair of Princess Leia — the character originated by the late Carrie Fisher in 1977's Star Wars— "hung in loose waves down her back, with two small braids framing her face to keep locks out of her way. She wore flowers but no jewels. She looked more nymph than princess."

Solo, who was portrayed in the films by Harrison Ford, noted that, "Leia had never looked more like herself than in this moment."

The book takes place after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983). While it explains that part of Han and Leia's life together is romantic, readers learn that there are more than a few obstacles in their galaxy.

"Their marriage, and the peace and prosperity it represents, are a lightning rod for all — including Imperial remnants still clinging to power," the book's official synopsis reads.

To prep, Revis said she watched the three original Star Wars movies again.

"I took pages and pages of notes on their dialogue, their mannerisms, the subtle ways they interacted," Revis, who's written about the franchise before, told StarWars.com in February. "Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are simply brilliant actors, and they gave me a lot to work with! I wanted this to be a story where the past was still present, but they were moving forward into new territory."

The writer, whose work also plays a role in Walt Disney World's new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser attraction, tested the dialogue between Leia and Han on her husband, because she knew it was crucial to get it absolutely right.

"Bickering is Han and Leia's love language, after all!" she said. "I can happily blow up ships in space, but finding the right balance between funny and romantic in their dialogue was perhaps the most difficult thing of the whole book."

Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel is available at book stores, including Amazon.
