Employees of an adult toy shop were left non-plussed after a couple left them an unexpected furry gift in the car park outside.
Dozens of guinea pigs were dumped outside the store in Cabell County West Virginia, leaving law employees and law enforcement baffled as to where they could have come from, and why they chose that location to abandon them.
Huntington-Cabell-Wayne Animal Control arrived at the scene after being called out on Thursday morning to the surreal report.
They were greeted by the sight of dozens of guinea pigs roaming freely around the car park, a bizarre sight even for a seasoned animal control officer.
Animal control then spent several hours using infrared lasers to track and recapture the animals, with some staff members at the store helping to wrangle the wayward rodents.
Staff at the adult store were also able to supply enough information for officers to track down the couple who left the pets in the car park.
Cabell County court records show them to be David Caserta, 37, and Katrina G. Hogsett, age unavailable, with both of them being from Huntington.

Caserta has been accused of taking the animals while his girlfriend Hogsett was asleep and dumping them outside the store, before driving away.
Caserta now faces 60 counts of abandoning an animal to die, while Hogsett has been charged with 60 counts of cruelty to animals.
The general manager of the adult store also extended thanks to convenience store Sheetz, who provided some bags of lettuce for the guinea pigs to eat.
