Harrowing dashcam footage has shown a near miss between a ute and a road train on an outback highway.
The vision shows the black ute suddenly veer in front of the oncoming truck on South Australia’s Stuart Highway, narrowly avoiding almost certain death.
In the footage the ute tries to make a right-hand turn despite the huge vehicle bearing down on it.
The dashcam vision shows the road train travelling on the highway at 100km/h before clipping the side of the ute as it tried to make the ill-judged turn.

The vehicle is then seen spinning off the road as the truck veers off into the scrub to reduce its speed.
Fortunately no-one was seriously injured in the collision with the ute driver able to get out of his vehicle and walk away.
Images after the crash show the ute’s bonnet crushed in what proved to be a lucky escape for the driver.
