The officer was attacked after he followed a blue Audi that reportedly failed to stop on Ellerburn Avenue in Hull at around 2.50pm on Friday.

Two yobs on a moped, who filmed the incident, tried to block the police car as it made its way onto the Clanthorpe estate.

When the Audi parked up the driver ran off so the officer tried to arrest the front seat passenger.

Mobile footage, filmed by local yobs, showed the officer trying to pull the young man out of the car.
