Shocking moment man jumps out of body bag in morgue in sick funeral director prank

THIS is the shocking moment a man leaps out of a body bag in a grim prank at a morgue.

Daft staff at T Cribb & Sons in Beckton, East London, played the joke on a colleague next to a real corpse – and it has left locals absolutely fuming.

Recorded on a hidden camera, a group of staff enter the morgue and tell their colleague that a body does not have a name tag on it.

Two body-bags can be seen laid out on slabs in front of the fridges used to store the dead.

The victim of the prank can then be seen standing over what they believe to be a body bag with a real corpse inside.

They then unzip the black bag and as they look down the pranking colleague lets out a scream and leaps out the bag.

The gaffe appears to frighten the life out of his terrified colleague who shouts "you silly c***” before kicking him.

How can they treat a morgue like a school playground?

But despite the laughs had by staff – a local family did not see the funny side in the slightest – and are demanding answers.

Andy Baverstock, of Barking, East London, told The Sun: “This is sickening.

“They are fooling around with another body-bag in view. That will have someone’s loved one in it.

“How can they treat a morgue like a school playground? This is totally obscene – and unforgivable.”

The clip has even split people online, with many slamming it as 'disrespectful' while others claim it is 'pure British humour'.

We're sorry

John Harris, senior partner at T Cribbs and Sons, saw the video at the weekend and confirmed he's suspended some staff.

Mr Harris, who is the great grandson of Thomas Cribb, founder of the funeral business, told The Sun: “This is devastating.

“One member of staff has already been suspended and there is an ongoing process to establish what has happened.

"I think others may be suspended and this could go legal, so I cannot say too much.

“People think this is funny – it is not. This is something we cannot hide from.”

The company, founded in 1881, boasts online that they have 'an unrivalled reputation for commitment to excellence' and they 'spend time respecting and honouring loved ones' final wishes'.
