A brother and sister were found guilty of manslaughter in a UK court Tuesday for shoving kebab meat into the mouth of a sleeping train passenger who later died.
The siblings, David Noble and Nicole Cavin, put the meat into the mouth of David Clark on the train trip back from a soccer match on March 2, 2019, The Sun reported.
Clark, 56, vomited and woke up, but collapsed and died in a hospital the next day, Sky News reported.
The chicken kebab meat was reportedly the size of a golf ball.
The jury found Noble, a 34-year-old from Grange-Over-Sands, and Cavin — a 24-year-old from Flookburgh who knew the victim — guilty, and they will be sentenced at a later date, according to the outlet and a police spokesman.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve May called the case “unusual and highly complex,” Sky News reported.
“I commend the courage of those witnesses who came forward and provided statements and those who attended court to give evidence,” he said, according to the outlet.
He added: “The dignity and composure of Mr. Clark’s family has been exemplary throughout and I hope they can take some comfort in the knowledge justice has been done.”
Clark’s family called him a “loving husband, father, brother and friend,” and “popular character in the local community,” according to Sky News.
“His death has left a large void in our lives,” they added.
