INDIAN singer Sidhu Moose Wala has been shot dead after his car was ambushed by a gunman.
The 28-year-old was driving a jeep in the city of Mansa, India, when a hail of bullets rained down on the vehicle.
Sidhu was rushed to hospital but was tragically declared dead.
Two others who were also in the car were also injured in the shooting.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tweeted: "I am shocked and deeply saddened by the gruesome murder of Siddhu Moosewala. Nobody involved will be spared.
"My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his fans across the world. I appeal to everyone to stay calm."

Sidhu was at the wheel of the vehicle when the gunman – who is being hunted by cops – unleashed more than 20 rounds at the star and his two pals, reports Tribune.
CCTV showed the rapper's car moments before being attacked by gunmen.
The footage revealed pedestrians running away from the scene when Sidhu came under ferocious attack.
Sidhu joined Congress in December last year before contesting the Punjab assembly election on a Congress ticket from Mansa.
He was defeated by the AAP candidate Vijay Singla by a huge margin.

Vijay Singla was however recently sacked by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over corruption charges.
On April 11, Sidhu released a new song titled Scapegoat in which he lamented his failure in the recent state assembly elections.
The Indian National Congress tweeted: "The murder of Shri Sidhu Moose Wala, Congress candidate from Punjab & a talented musician, has come as a terrible shock to the Congress party & the entire nation.
"Our deepest condolences to his family, fans & friends.
"We stand united & undeterred, at this time of extreme grief."
