Stormy Daniels takes the floor at the Oxford Union days after judge set March 2024 date for ex-President Trump to stand trial in the ‘hush-money’ case
- Daniels previously appeared at the Union in 2018 for a talk on working in porn
- The adult star was invited back to speak following President Trump’s indictment
Stormy Daniels addressed the Oxford Union for the second time last night, just days after a judge set a date for former President Donald Trump to stand trial in the ‘hush money’ case involving the adult star.
Daniels, 44, spoke on the effects of social media, the abuse she has received after speaking out against the former president, and her feelings of being persecuted for having worked as a porn star.
Daniels previously appeared at the Union in 2018 for a talk entitled ‘Sex, Guns & Other Fluff: How Porn Can Set You Free’, where she argued that porn stars must not be stigmatized for their work.
The Louisiana native was invited back a second time to speak in the historic chamber following Trump’s indictment earlier this year where he is charged with making a $130,000 payment to Daniels during his presidential campaign.
Daniels addressed her alleged past encounter with the former president in her talk. The adult star said she did not want their meeting to be branded an affair as she did ‘not consider 90 seconds of the worst part of my life an affair’. She also called the meeting with Trump ‘unimpressive’.

Explaining her decision to speak out, Daniels said she had signed an NDA restricting her from coming forward using a fake name before she subsequently went on TV to air her claims.

She said she partly regretted signing the NDA and said it would have saved her $600,000 and a barrage of online abuse had she stayed quiet.
Daniels also said she was ‘thrilled’ for E Jean Carroll following her recent civil case win where a jury ruled that Trump had sexually assaulted her in the dressing room of a Bergdorf Goodman department store in the 1990s.
She said she was in shock when Carroll was asked why she had not screamed in the alleged incident, ‘because I didn’t scream, it didn’t even register for me to do so’, The Oxford Student reported.
Daniels was later asked about the power dynamics of the alleged encounter with Donald Trump. She told the moderator that the meeting was ‘consensual’ and that she ‘didn’t say no’, but said Trump ‘physically intimidated me by putting himself in between me and the door.’
Speaking to the chamber last night, Daniels also told of the impact that social media abuse had on her since raising the allegations against Trump.
‘I can’t tell you how many times I laid on the floor and wanted to die’ after being attacked by ‘trolls and bots’, said Daniels, The Oxford Student reported.
The 44-year-old said she would frequently be targeted on social media and called derogatory names.

Despite this, her talk focused around ignoring online vitriol, telling students: ‘the internet is not real, and social media cannot hurt you’.
She added: ‘I can put up a tweet that is positive… or something neutral that has no effect on anybody, and it will get a very small number of comments or retweets. If I put up something negative, it explodes.’
The adult star also apologized at one point for frequently swearing throughout her talk, The Oxford Student wrote, stating: ‘the F word is one of my favorite words’.
It comes after Daniels yesterday told Good Morning Britain that she regretted revealing details of her alleged affair with Trump after she and her family have faced massive backlash – including someone attacking her horse.
Host Susanna Reid yesterday morning asked her: ‘As you sat down you said “I now regret speaking out”, why?’ to which she replied ‘because nobody cares what the truth is anymore.’
Daniels said she came forward ‘to set an example for my daughter and other young women so that she grows up and says, “my mom wasn’t bullied and the people in power can’t bully you or control you”‘.

But she also admitted that the threats made against her had increased, alleging Trump supporters climbed her fence and attacked her horse, Redemption, two weeks ago.
Having spoken out on death threats before, she said she would still give evidence against Trump. She said that she was not personally frightened of the president but his ‘sycophants and his followers’.
She told the show’s presenters she does not ‘feel defeated’ because she ‘did not lose’ and ‘spoke her truth’ but admitted it ‘was just for nothing’, adding ‘if people don’t want to face facts and see the truth… I’d rather have had the time back with my family.’
