Stray bullet nearly kills woman riding in taxi in Queens

A woman narrowly dodged death when a stray bullet tore through the taxi she was riding in as it traveled through Queens, police and sources said.

The lucky passenger — who had just landed in the Big Apple from Boston to visit her boyfriend — told cops she heard three gunshots ring out just after 1:45 a.m. Monday, according to sources.

One of the bullets shattered the rear window of the taxi as it was heading down the Van Wyck Expressway, near Jamaica Avenue, in Kew Gardens, striking the driver’s side headrest in the back seat, cops said.

Police sources said the 30-year-old woman was heading to her boyfriend’s apartment in Manhattan.

She was treated for minor scrapes to her right eye from broken glass, sources said.
