A TEENAGE girl and a 60-year-old woman have today suffered facial injuries after a noxious substance was thrown in their face from a passing van.
Cops said the pair were attacked at 11.45am on Monday in Thornton Heath, South London.
They were rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Jon Ellacott, who lives close to where the shocking attack happened, saw the emergency services arrive at the scene.
He told the Standard: "All we know is that a noxious substance was thrown from a van at a woman with her children, walking down the road.
"The first we knew about it was when the fire brigade, police and paramedics turned up."
Police have not made any arrests and their enquiries are ongoing.
