Teens busted in slaying of gangbanger, 16, amid bloody Bronx turf war: sources

A 16-year-old was shot in front of a 99 cent store in Queens Sunday amid a shooting surge in the Big Apple that has largely involved teenagers, police said.

The teen was in front of the shop on Merrick Boulevard near 111th Avenue in Jamaica when an unknown male shot him in the upper right thigh just before 2:30 p.m., cops said.

The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and is expected to survive, police said.

Law enforcement sources told The Post the teen is being “very uncooperative at this time” and the shooter remains on the loose.

A worker at a nearby business said in Spanish the two got into a scuffle before she heard a single shot ring out and the police were on scene investigating.

As of Sunday, shootings are up 28.9 percent citywide, NYPD data shows.

No further information was immediately available.
