A doting husband who was married to one of the teachers that were killed in the Texas school massacre has since died of a heart attack.
Joe Garcia passed away just two days after his wife Irma Garcia was killed during a horror shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday ( May 24).
His family made the heartbreaking announcement that the mass attack had sadly claimed another life, reports Fox 35.
Teenager Salvador Ramos opened fire at the school and killed nineteen pupils and two teachers before he was shot dead by cops.
Joe and Irma Garcia were married 24 years after becoming high school sweethearts. They went on to have four children named Cristian, Jose, Lyliana and Alysandra, whom they sadly leave behind.
Garcia's family confirmed that Joe tragically died "as a result of a medical emergency" on Thursday morning ( May 24 ), reports Metro.
Cousin Debra Garcia Austin commented: "I truly believe Joe died of a broken heart and losing the love of his life of more than 30 years was too much to bear."
A man who said he is Garcias's nephew in numerous social media posts that have been shared by family members said in a tweet: "EXTREMELY heartbreaking and come with deep sorrow to say that my Tia Irma’s husband Joe Garcia has passed away due to grief.
"[I] truly am at a loss for words for how we are all feeling."

He added: "My Tia Irma and Joe Garcia were high school sweethearts and leave behind 4 beautiful children, their ages being 23, 19, 15 and the youngest only being 13 years old, no child should have to go through this, my heart breaks for them."
It was reported that Irma, 46, had been co-teaching with Eva Mireles, 44, who was also shot dead.
They were both shielding their 9 and 10-year-old students when they died.
