Texas school shooting suspect Dimitrios Pagourtzis was filmed dancing at church days before massacre

THE teenage suspect behind a Texas school shooting was filmed dancing at church days before his deadly massacre.

Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, has been accused of killing eight Santa Fe High School students and two teachers after bursting into their art lesson with a shotgun, shouting "surprise!" on Friday morning.

He allegedly sang 'Another One Bites The Dust' each time he shot a pupil.

New footage shows the teen wearing traditional Greek clothing as he danced with other members of his Greek Orthodox church.

TMZ, which obtained the video, said the dance was part of a larger Greek festival in a town about 30 minutes away from Santa Fe, Texas, where he went to school.

Today it was also revealed that one of his victims, Shana Fisher, 16, had rejected Pagourtzis in front of his classmates.

"He kept making advances on her, and she repeatedly told him no," the girl's mother Sadie Rodriguez said.

"A week later he opens fire on everyone he didn't like. Shana being the first one."

Student Kole Dixon told the New York Post Pagourtzis played a "kamikaze song" on loudspeaker off his mobile phone as he opened fire.

Dixon said: "My friend Trent was in the classroom and said after [Pagourtzis] would shoot a student he would sing, ‘Another one bites the dust!

“He also kept playing a kamikaze song over and over as loud as he could."

Pagourtizis was arrested in Santa Fe, Texas, after giving himself up to cops following a short gunfight.

Local cops claimed he had intended on killing himself, but decided he could not go through with it.

A statement released by his family read: "We are as shocked and confused as anyone else by these events that occurred.

"We are gratified by the public comments made by other Santa Fe High School students that show Dimitri as we know him: a smart, quiet, sweet boy."

"While we remain mostly in the dark about the specifics of yesterday's tragedy, what we have learned from media reports seems incompatible with the boy we love."

Classmates Angelique Ramirez, Chris Stone, Kim Vaughan, Aaron Kyle McLeod, Christian Garcia, Shana Fisher and Pakistani exchange student Sabika Sheikh were among the victims.

School district police officer John Barnes, 49, who was shot in the arm, is among the wounded.

Amazingly, classmate Rome Shubert, 16, was shot in the back of the head and the bullet travelled through his skull perilously close to his brain – but he survived needing only bandages.

Shubert, who is now stable, told CNN: "I just feel lucky to be here.

"I just wish this didn't happen. This shouldn't happen to anybody in that school."

It comes after CCTV footage of him timidly shuffling and looking down at his feet as a judge in Galveston, Texas read him his rights.

Asked if he is a US citizen and if he wanted to request a court-appointed lawyer, the alleged shooter mumbles quietly: “Yes sir.”

He then quietly says “no sir” when asked if he was out on bond for any other offences.

Pagourtzis has been charged with capital murder and is being held in solitary confinement at Galveston County jail.

He could face the death penalty if convicted.

Cops found explosive devices, including a Molotov cocktail, in the suspected gunman's home and around the school.

Pagourtzis is believed to play on the school's junior varsity football team and is a member of a dance squad with a local Greek Orthodox church.

The shotgun and pistol used both belonged to Pagourtzis' father but it is not clear if he knew his son had taken them.
