The Undertaker compares ‘special’ WWE talent Omos to legend Andre The Giant

Wrestling icon The Undertaker has lavished praise on one of WWE’s breakout stars, hailing the towering Omos as ‘special.’

7ft 3in Omos, a product of the WWE Performance Centre, has been a dominant figure on their Monday Night Raw programme for much of 2021.

He’s already been one half the brand’s tag team champions alongside veteran AJ Styles and won a battle royal at Survivor Series this past weekend to turn even more heads.

The impressive feat came only a couple of years into his wrestling career, his current run beginning as recently as last October when he was first paired with Styles.

Fans were made to wait for his in-ring debut, however, and it came in sensational style at this year’s WrestleMania when he and Styles won the tag gold by defeating The New Day.

Though that reign ended at SummerSlam in August, his remarkable progress has won him plenty of admirers – among them seemingly the most impressive big man of them all in The Undertaker.

‘Taker’ wrestled for 30 years in WWE as one of their greatest ever character creations before hanging up his black hat at last year’s Survivor Series.

He’s kept a close eye on the product, though, and appeared on The Bump this week, where he reserved special praise for 27-year-old Omos.

Even comparing him to fellow legend Andre The Giant, he said: "There will never be another Andre… but this guy is as close as we've come – and that's a big statement – but he's special, almost as special.

"The big thing for him to know and to realise is that he is special and that he's different from everybody else.

“The average size of the wrestler, in general, is smaller than it was, [and] here's this guy who is incredibly athletic, he's incredibly huge, he is a big, big, strong, man.”

Undertaker’s WWE legacy is undoubtedly as strong as it is because he was always careful about how and when he did almost everything fans saw.

The veteran was keen for the relative youngster to afford himself the same caution when it comes to showcasing his incredible size, offering to help if ever it was needed.

He went on to add: “It's important for him to make sure that he protects that.”

"Sometimes you guys don't understand what that means.

“I've had a couple of conversations about what he should do and what he shouldn't do and if things get too heated, call me."

Omos reacted to the high praise from one of the industry’s biggest names, replying on Twitter: “Man…I’m lost for words… Just grateful… Thank you @undertaker.”
