Three rushed to hospital after car ploughs into concert-goers leaving UB40 gig

THREE people were taken to hospital after a vehicle smashed into concert-goers leaving a UB40 gig last night.

The pedestrians were rushed to hospital after the car mowed down a crowd of people at around 11pm near Lingfield Park Resor.

Police say that the ordeal is not terror-related – but they are hoping that witnesses will come forward.

No arrests have been made, and the three pedestrians' injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Surrey Police said in a tweet: "Did you witness a collision last night at Lingfield racecourse?

"3 pedestrians have been taken to hospital after a car drove into a crowd around 11pm.

"Enquiries ongoing & this isn't believed to be terror related."

Chief Inspector Dan Gutierrez said: "We would like to reassure the public that this incident is not believed to be terror-related.

"We know that there were thousands of people in attendance at this event and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any dashcam footage of the lead up to the collision to get in contact with us."
