A TikTokker with millions of followers has said he has a five-inch retractable thumb.
The claim has left many people scratching their heads and wondering if the young man has exaggerated his condition.
Jacob Pina, 23, from Westport, Massachusetts, went viral on TikTok after showing off his giant thumb.
While his thumb is unusually large, it appears the social media star is tricking viewers about his ‘retractable’ thumb with different angles and by using a sound machine to add crunching effects to his videos.

Jacob Pina, 23, Pina, from Westport, Massachusett, has an abnormally large right thumb that doesn’t curve in the usual way
However, claims he can extend and retract it may be achieved on camera using differing angles on film
He said: ‘It makes me unique and it’s quite cool. It’s in proportion with the rest of my hand as I have lanky fingers.
‘I do thumb wars with people all the time. I have videos of it on my TikTok and I have never lost a thumb war. I never will.’
However, he previously said he only realised he had a long thumb when his friend pointed it out to him.
Now the youngster claims he found out while he ‘was playing around when I stretched my thumb out and realised I could extend it to make it longer’.
He added: ‘I can easily retract it to make it shorter again and it doesn’t hurt me to do either.
‘It’s been a positive experience having a long thumb, it’s never stopped me doing anything and sharing it on TikTok has gained me so many followers who are thumb enthusiasts around the world.
‘My height is about 5’11 so I’m quite tall so it’s in proportion with the rest of my body.’
Since he put a video of his thumb online Pina has been bowled over by the public’s fascination.
Pina says his long thumb gives him some advantages, including in video games and he never gets beaten in thumb wars
Since he put a video of his thumb online, Pina, from Westport, Massachusetts, has been bowled over by the public’s fascination. ‘I can’t believe the number of likes I’ve got,’ he told DailyMail.com
He previously told DailyMail.com: ‘I can’t believe the number of likes I’ve got.’
Pina first claimed he spotted his large thumb while he was a freshman at Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, Massachusetts.
‘I was sitting with my friend Alec and this kid named Cameron and he said: “Wow, look at this kid’s thumb.
‘I said “What do you mean, my thumb?” And he called over his friends and they were like “Whoa, whoa, whoa,” and basically that’s when I realized.
While his right thumb is the oddity, his left is just as long, he says. ‘But it is curved normally. It doesn’t stick out quite the same and it looks more normal’
‘It wasn’t bullying, just they’d never seen anything like it before.’
While his right thumb is the oddity, his left is just as long but curves normally so doesn’t stick out.
He has no idea why his thumb is so out of proportion with the rest of his hand but he has embraced it and loves showing it off.
He said: ‘There is no reason, it’s so big just an anomaly.
‘When people see my thumb, they freak out and measure it next to their own thumb, I feel great about it.
‘It’s always great to be different and embrace your own essence.’
