TORNADOES hit Iowa late Saturday, leaving at least two dead as wild weather destroys homes in Des Moines and Winterset, according to WHO13.

Officials in Madison County confirmed at least one tornado has touched down.


Officials confirmed the two deaths, but no identities have been released.

Severe weather hit the region late Saturday afternoon, affecting the Winterset and Norwalk areas.

Search and rescue operations are being conducted in Winterset, according to WHO13.

Many have taken to Twitter to share photos of the damage left in the wake of the storms and tornadoes.
