'Troubled' Linkin Park fan hanged himself just hours after hearing Chester Bennington committed suicide

A FAN of rockers Linkin Park hanged himself hours after hearing the band’s lead singer had committed suicide the same way.

Lee Randall, 36, phoned his father after hearing about US star Chester Bennington, 41, and said: “He has six children, how could he do that?”

Lee’s body was found the following day by his wife Sian Warman-Randall, 35, at their home in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

His inquest heard sign installer Lee had been troubled since boyhood.

Mum Wendy, 56, said: “He had issues with self-esteem. He was outgoing and would dress extravagantly — but I think it was a front. He was a bit like a rock star who wasn’t a rock star.”

He had battled bulimia and once said he wanted to be in the “27 club” — a toll of musicians to have died at that age, including Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse.
