Trump slams Biden as he claims 'Taliban terrorists could be sneaking on US evacuation flights out of Afghanistan'

DONALD Trump slammed Joe Biden on Tuesday while claiming the "Taliban terrorists could be sneaking on United States evacuation flights out of Afghanistan."

The former president's spokesperson took to Twitter to share Trump's statement as a man banned from Britain on a no-fly watchlist was able to escape to the UK from Kabul in an evacuation flight security scare.

Trump's brief statement read: "Biden surrendered Afghanistan to terrorists and left thousands of Americans for dead by pulling out the Military before our citizens.

"Now we are learning that out of the 26,000 people who have been evacuated, only 4,000 are Americans."

He continued: "You can be sure the Taliban, who are now in complete control, didn’t allow the best and brightest to board these evacuation flights.

"Instead, we can only imagine how many thousands of terrorists have been airlifted out of Afghanistan and into neighborhoods around the world."

The 75-year-old Republican blasted the evacuation process as a "terrible failure" with "no vetting."

Trump added: "How many terrorists will Joe Biden bring to America? We don’t know!"

Trump's blasted Biden just as UK officials were alerted after a traveller arrived at Birmingham airport in a British military plane — but despite concerns, he's since been released to live in the West Mids.

Border Force and police stopped the security suspect after they appeared to dodge evacuation checks, Sky News reports.

Members of Parliament were told that a total of five people on the no-fly watchlist — designed to block individuals considered a security threat — had tried to leave the airport in Afghanistan with UK help.

A senior Border Force official said one more was intercepted in Frankfurt — he was blocked from continuing to the UK, though his family were allowed.

Meanwhile, Biden has said that troops will be withdrawn from Afghanistan in one week, sources said, after the Taliban said no evacuation flights are allowed after August 31.

The Pentagon recommendation was made on Monday based on concerns about security risks to American forces, an administration official told Reuters.

Biden has asked the Pentagon for contingency plans to stay longer should it be necessary, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The United States is telling the Taliban that the US withdrawal by Biden's August 31 deadline is contingent on the group's cooperation in facilitating evacuations, the official said.

It comes after Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said no evacuation flights from Afghanistan will be allowed after August 31 – and warned any delay would shatter the uneasy truce at the airport and risk slipping back into war.

Taliban chiefs have previously warned "there will be consequences" if the Western forces cross the "red line" and don't leave on time.

Leading up to the deadline, thousands of evacuees are being airlifted from the Taliban-seized capital every day.
