TV film critic Barry Norman left £2.8million to his daughters, his will revealed yesterday.
The star – who presented the BBC’s “Film…” series for 26 years until 1998 – died aged 83 last June.
Daughters Samantha and Emma share his estate but the will includes a £2,000 donation to London’s Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
The sisters – who inherited as Barry’s wife Diana died before him – paid tribute to their "remarkable" dad.
They said: "He had a great life, a wonderful marriage and an enviable career.
"He leaves behind a family who adore him and a great roster of friends who love him too. We will miss him more than we can say."
The journalist and broadcaster, known for his catchphrase "and why not?", also had stints at the Daily Mail, Sky and Channel 4 and wrote BBC documentaries.
His wife Diana, who wrote a series of best-selling historical thrillers under the name Ariana Franklin, died in 2011 aged 77.
