Two people dead after helicopter crash in the Snowy Mountains

Helicopter crash kills two near the Snowy Mountains just days after another chopper came down in Victoria killing all five on board

Two people have been killed in a helicopter crash in southern NSW, the second fatal crash within days.

Emergency services found the wreckage 200m east of the Snowy Mountains Highway, Kiandra Flats shortly before midnight Monday.

The two occupants died at the scene. Their identities are yet to be confirmed.

A crime scene has been set up as an investigation was launched into the circumstances of the crash.

It’s the second fatal helicopter crash in Australia in less than a week.

A pilot and four passengers died on Thursday when their helicopter came down at Mt Disappointment north of Melbourne.
