TWO teenage boys have been arrested after a 15-year-old schoolboy was stabbed to death.
The youngster, named locallyas Reece Tansey, was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries.
Cops yesterday said the victim had staggered to a house after being attacked near a primary school and desperately knocked on the door for help.
Residents told how the teenager was left covered in blood following the attack.
Police scrambled to reports of an incident in Bolton, Lancs., at around 4.45am on Tuesday (May 3) morning.
Greater Manchester Police have not yet revealed the exact circumstances surrounding what happened, or said what the boys, 14 and 15, have been arrested on suspicion of.
Reece's uncle James said the boy had slipped out of his house via his bedroom window after receiving a text message.
James believes Reece was lured to an ambush after wrongly being implicated in a car theft a few weeks earlier.
He said: “He was a good boy. He was innocent and he just caught up with the wrong lads.
“Somebody messaged him and said come and meet me. He thought he was going to meet one person but it was set up.”
'A GOOD BOY'
The force yesterday revealed he had knocked on the door of a nearby house on Walker Avenue for help following the incident.
Detective Superintendent Chris Bridge said the boy's death was a "huge shock to the community".
Arshad Mahmood, 48, told how his friend Faifal Shah had gone to the aid of the victim after returning home from a nearby mosque and phoned an ambulance.
He said: “He pulled up in his car and the boy was shouting, ‘Help, help!’
“Faifal could seen he was in a state and he was bleeding quite badly.
“The boy had knocked at a few doors to try to get help after seeing the lights were on inside."
Heartbroken friends of the teenager have taken to social media to pay tribute and make plans for a balloon release in his memory.
One heartfelt tribute read: "Rest easy mate love you"
Another said: "R.I.P I actually can't believe I'm writing this I hope your okay up there I'm gonna miss you, love you little man."
The police are yet to confirm the boy's identity.
