Two terror attacks already thwarted in France this year, says Interior Minister

TWO terrorist attacks have been thwarted in France this year.

The targets were a sports centre and the armed forces.

Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said both plots were "not totally finalised," but he didn't elaborate.

He said that several suspects have been arrested and jailed.

He added they were known to have been radicalised.

The French government on Friday unveiled a wide-ranging new program to counter radicalization, as French jihadis return from the battlefields of Syria and Iraq and the watch list grows of people showing risk signs.

The plan, made up of 60 measures, puts the emphasis on prevention, notably aimed at trying to catch danger signals within society.
