UFO jetted over US Navy warship 'faster than any known aircraft' in mass sighting seen by 200 sailors, says witness

A UFO jetted over a US Navy warships faster than any known aircraft in a mass sighting seen by up to 200 sailors, according to a witness.

Patrick Gokey is now the third witness to go on record regarding the mysterious events on the USS Ronald Reagan one night in 2004.

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier is claimed to have been shadowed by a 40ft ball of fire UFO for up to four hours in a mass sighting witnessed by dozens – if not hundreds – crewmen.

Documentary filmmaker Dave C. Beaty – who produced 2019 film The Nimitz Encounters about the famous 2004 US Navy encounter with the "Tic Tac" object – has been investigating the case.

And he put The Sun Online in touch with Mr Gokey, who was working on the aircraft carrier on the night in question and also saw the UFO.

Mr Gokey, who was serving as a seaman at the time, told The Sun Online he still hopes to get answers on what he saw that night – never having had such an experience before or since.

He witnessed the object twice that night, once while he was on the starboard forward watch by the bridge.

And he saw it again when he was rotated to the station at the massive vessel's stern, known as "the fantail".

Gokey first the saw the object as he hovered around 200 feet over the flight deck, saying "everyone on the bridge" would have been able to see the UFO.

And then he saw it again when he rotated watch, once again hovering over the rear of ship.

The sailor told The Sun Online the object moved in ways and at speeds seemingly beyond the capabilities of any aircraft he had seen before.

Flying in three half circle patterns before then jetting off, Gokey described the object as a "bright orange ball" that was "wavy, but somehow still sold like a plasma"

He first the saw the object for 30 seconds as it flew near the flightdeck, and then saw it again around an hour later as it moved to the fantail.

Crew aboard the carrier dubbed the object "the blob" or "the thing".

It is the latest in a string of incidents of UFOs reportedly being seen approaching US warships and warplanes – with many former servicemen coming forward to tell their stories.

Strange objects seen in the sky – known more commonly known as UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) – have stepped firmly from the realms of conspiracy theories into a serious national security concern.

US senators last month grilled intelligence chiefs about the encounters as they confessed over the last year they have probed 400 sightings and 11 near misses.

And the incident aboard the USS Ronald Reagan is potentially one of the most extraordinary UFO encounters in history with the object being seen multiple times over the course of 4 hours and by a huge number of witnesses.

"It did not move in ways that I've seen other aircraft maneuver and it was faster than anything I've ever seen," Gokey told The Sun Online.

And he also backs up accounts from fellow crewman Karol Olesiak and Derek Smith that despite the extraordinary sighting, there was not much response from those on board.

Mr Gokey, Mr Olesiak and Mr Smith are among eight former US Navy crew from the Reagan whoconfirmed they either saw the object or heard about the encounter the following day.

He said: "I'd like to say my defining memory from that night was seeing the object itself, but it was more surprise at how few people reacted or seemed to care about the events that took place.

"I wouldn't describe my experience as calm necessarily.

"To me, it was more the fact that everyone onboard is trained to do their job even when unexpected things happen, and that's exactly what everyone did."

He said he did not receive any specific orders regarding the sighting, did not report the incident and believes between 100 and 200 people would have seen the UFO.

"I have not had other paranormal experiences. I do hope we get answers on this," said Gokey.

Another lookout aboard the ship, spoken to Mr Beaty, also confirmed the object appeared to move in "little half loop swoops" before vanishing – adding the bridge were tracking it on the radar.

She described the object as an "orange globe floating over the flight deck" that was keeping pace with the ship – which is believed to have been moving around 22 knots.

The crewman claims she tried to report it to the bridge, but was told to "quit smoking crack" .

It is alleged that crewmen aboard the vessel were told to not record the encounter in the ship's log, with one being told by one senior officer to "rip that sh*t out" according to another witness.

Some of the witness testimonies vary, offering different times of day and duration of the encounter – but all agree the orange fireball was spotted near the ship.

Mr Smith previously told The Sun Online how he saw crewmen on the flight deck pointing up at the object, and Mr Olesiak described the phenomena as resembling the Biblical description of the "burning bush".

USS Ronald Reagan was the ninth in class of the supercarriers – and had a crew of 5,680 sailors, an airwing of 2,480, and 80 warplanes.

The 101,000 ton, 1,092 feet long vessel is powered by two nuclear reactors – making her maiden active deployment in 2006.

And the exact date of the encounter is unknown – but it is believed to have occured in early 2004.

The incident occured while the new nuclear-powered carrier was undergoing a shakedown before being moved into active service.

US lawmakers last month grilled two top security chiefs in the first UFO hearing for 50 years.

The intelligence bosses attempted to explain how difficult it is to track these objects, and showed congressmen two videos.

And while they did not mention aliens, they did admit there are some of the 400 encounters they have on their books which are truly unexplained.
