BATTLE OVER UK SKIES
The UK's miserable weather conditions is being caused by a battle over dominance between two fronts.
Forecasters warn that a Scandinavian cold front and wet weather from the Atlantic are battling for dominance in a fight which could be fuelled by the remnants of Storm Justine.
A Met Office statement says: "A dense pool of cold air over Scandinavia is exerting a strong influence on the UK weather as weather systems from the Atlantic try to extend their influence."

WHY IS THE WEATHER FREEZING IN PLACES AND MILD IN OTHERS?
The weather will be extremely temperamental for the next few weeks.
Over the next two days, places in the UK will experience over 15 inches of snowfall – but some places will also feel warm.
The PA reports that temperatures will increase in some areas because milder air is moving from the Atlantic, causing a "battleground" as it combines with colder air in the north.
In fact, parts of southern England and Wales could see "spring-like" weather, with temperatures rising as high as 14C (57F).
This comes soon after large parts of the UK were blanketed in snow last weekend.
