TEMPERATURES are set to swell to 30C today as the Met Office reveals a scorching heat sweeping the South East.
The latest UK weather map shows hot weather is expected to hit the area, with some breezes amid the humidity.
The mercury is set to climb to 30C in London and Broxbourne while Luton and Woking will see a high of 29C.
"It's going to feel muggy and humid with highs of 30C, and fairly breezy with that south westerly wind as well," BBC presenter Lucy Martin told viewers.
Met Office forecasters predict some rain is heading southward across central parts of the UK – with some heavy periods likely at first.
Met office forecaster Aidan McGivern said humid air is coming into an area with low pressure while a couple of weather fronts cross mainly northern and central parts of the country, Metro reports.

He said: "As we start off Tuesday and that rain will be heavy for southern Scotland, northern England, into the north Midlands, north west Wales, perhaps the odd rumble of thunder as well."
Only scattered light showers are expected in Scotland and Northern Ireland where skies will brighten.
He said: "Now the heaviest of the rain pushes away by lunchtime, skies brighten for Scotland and Northern Ireland, a few sunny spells coming through here, a few showers as well in the north west where it will be breezy."
As the day goes on, parts of England and Wales can expect patchy rain, drizzle and hill fog.

The further north is expected to see cloudy conditions with showers developing but the far south can expect dry conditions to continue.
