A US airman has been charged with three counts of rape after a British woman was reportedly attacked on a military base.

Lee Bogstad, 21, is accused of assaulting the woman multiple times at RAF Croughton, in Northamptonshire.

The alleged string of attacks is said to have happened between November 2020 and February 2021.

Northamptonshire Police and the US Air Force (USAF) both investigated the claims, say cops.

Bogstad will appear before Northampton Magistrates' Court on June 29.

The base, just 20 miles north of Oxford, is home to the 422nd Air Base Group (ABG).

The ABG is a USAF unit located in the UK and provides support for American personnel serving in the country.
