Vladimir Putin to unleash ballistic missile in DAYS in test launch after residents given terrifying lockdown warning

VLADIMIR Putin is set to unleash a ballistic missile in DAYS in a test launch after residents were given a terrifying lockdown warning.

An area larger than England in eastern Russia has been told to take emergency precautions in drill seen as a chilling warning to Ukraine and the West.

It comes as Moscow launched a hypersonic missile that destroyed a railway tunnel in Ukraine yesterday.

The rocketed targeted a route that connects Slovakia with Ukraine in a bid to stop the supply of Western arms.

It's understood Moscow used the powerful hypersonic Kalibur missile in the planned attack, which had been used in a previous launch on Ukrainian military infrastructure in March.

It's unclear which Russian missile is being used in the latest test run- but the last one was his Satan-2 big beast in April, and more launches of the hypersonic 208-ton 15,880mph weapon, also known as Sarmat, are due ahead of deployment this year.

Officials in Kamchatka region warned residents of the upcoming launch and said they were "closing the fall area for movements of people, equipment of all kinds, aviation flights, and tourist groups".

The test fire is expected to happen between 6 and 10 June, according to the announcement.

A statement said: "In the danger zone of the fall of the separating parts of the launch vehicle or its fragments, as well as in the event of an emergency in the field, are the eastern, southeastern part of the Tigilsky district, the southwestern part of the Karaginsky district and the northwestern part of the Ust-Kamchatsky district of the Kamchatka region."

The missile is targeted at the Kura testing range.

The last intercontinental ballistic missile was on 20 April when Satan-2 was launched amid huge rocket flames from an underground silo at Plesetsk military cosmodrome in the north of Russia.

At the time Putin said it would ensure Russia's security and make "those fierce people who are trying to threaten it” think twice.

There would be “no analogues to this weapon in the world for a long time to come”.

Satan-2 – the height of a 14-storey tower block – is due to be deployed later this year, but next week’s test could involve several other missile types.

After the April launch, close Putin ally Dmitry Rogozin – head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos – highlighted the 26ft deep crater made at the Kura test site by the missile without a nuclear warhead.

“With a nuclear charge, such a crater at an enemy site will be…well, very large and very deep – and radioactive.

“And not just one, but exactly as many as the most powerful nuclear missile in the world will deliver to the territory of a fierce enemy.

“And we will soon have almost 50 such Sarmats [the missile is known in the West as Satan-2] on combat duty.

“It remains only to advise the aggressors to talk more politely with Russia.”

Kremlin propagandists in recent weeks have threatened the West with Satan-2, for example suggesting Britain could be sunk under a tidal wave caused by the missile.

Zvezda TV journalist Alexander Kursky said at the Kura military test site on the Kamchatka peninsula: “This crater left by a Sarmat test launch just strikes my imagination.

“No warhead, but the depth is 8 metres (26ft)  and diameter 20 metres (66ft).”

It comes as a video captured the moment Russia attacked a railway tunnel connecting Ukraine with Slovakia.

Kalibr cruise missiles hit the Beskydy railway tunnel in the Carpathian Mountains, say reports.

A family – with fear in their voices – recorded the strike in Lviv region, reporting that two missiles had struck the area.

Ukrainian official Anton Gerashchenko and Lviv governor Maksym Kozytskyy confirmed the late evening attack.

“The goal is to try to disrupt the railway communication and stop the supply of fuel and weapons from our allies,” he said.

Russia was also targeting a second tunnel, he said.

Russian sources said the attacks had involved Kalibr missiles.

This type of strategic missile has been previously used in the war in Ukraine aimed at destroying vital infrastructure.

In April, images showed Kalibr missiles being loaded onto a submarine in Sevastopol naval port in annexed Crimea.

The extent of any damage to the Beskydy tunnel was unclear.

It connects Ukraine to NATO state Slovakia, and provides a rail connection between Lviv and the EU.

The first tunnel was built in 1886, with a second inaugurated in 2018 as a gateway to Europe.

On the video, a voice is heard saying that the strike was in the direction of Stryi and that two missiles had been launched.
