Wagner Group claims to have shot down Russian helicopter

Mercenery troops who claim to have entered Russia say they have shot down a helicopter.

Images shared on social media show what appears to be a red chopper gunned down in Russia’s Rostov region. It comes after the Wagner Group claimed it had entered Russia from eastern Ukraine.

On Telegram, group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin claims the helicopter had “opened fire on a civilian convoy”. He gave no further details on the alleged attack from the chopper.

Videos on social media show Russian forces and Wagner troops reportedly clashing in the Rostov area. The local regional governor has issued a plea to families in the area to remain indoors.
