Watch Simone Biles flawlessly land risky Yurchenko double pike in US Classic practice

Simone Biles is ready.

The gymnastics GOAT will take on her first competition since October 2019 when the U.S. Classic begins on Saturday. In the meantime, Biles is practicing in Indianapolis and leaving Twitter viewers in awe.

The 19-time world gold medalist landed her Yurchenko double pike on Friday ahead of the competition and plans to break it out at some point before the Tokyo Olympics this sumer. No woman has performed the vault move in competition and it could be the fifth self-named skill for Biles.

Truly speechless.

Biles last competed at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart where she won five gold medals. It was believed she'd call it the end of a golden career the following summer at the Olympics until it was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will be 587 days, per NBC Olympic Talk, between competitions for Biles. She's warming up for the U.S. Championship and Olympic Trials in June.

It's not guaranteed Biles will perform the difficult Yurchenko double pike this weekend, but keep an eye out for it next month. It is made risky because Biles adds a second flip to what she and other vaulters already do as the Amanar. It will be yet another beaming achievement to add to Biles' stunning career.
