Well, it's pretty simple, but you'll need a minimum of 1,000 followers.

And though you can have a TikTok account from the age of 13, you'll need to be over 16 to go live on the platform.

If you meet the requirements, all you need to do to go live do the following steps:

  1. Open the app
  2. Press the main "+" button found at the bottom of the screen
  3. From here you'll be presented with a "Live" option
  4. Give your stream a title (name it carefully so that people can search and find it easily)
  5. Once you've chosen a name, press "GO LIVE" and you'll be streaming live

If you decide to switch to a private account, you'll have more control over who is able to watch, with the ability to approve who can follow you, view your videos, live streams, bio, likes, following and followers lists.

You can also limit the audience for your content in "Privacy Settings", regardless of the type of account you have.
