MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter Lilibet in 2021, after having their son Archie in 2019.
But the little girl's name is actually a sweet tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.
What is the meaning of Lilibet?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry named their daughter Lilibet in honour of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
As a child, Her Majesty used to say 'Lilibet' as she couldn't pronounce her name.
It soon became a nickname for the Queen, with husband Prince Philip often calling her by it.
Lili's middle name Diana also pays tribute to a family member, honouring Harry's mother, the Princess of Wales.
The meaning behind the young tot's name is “God’s promise.”
Lilibet was born at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces.
