VANESSA Bryant launched the Mambacita clothing line on May 1, 2021 – the same day that daughter Gianna would have celebrated her 15th birthday.

Gianna and father Kobe Bryant were two of nine people killed in a helicopter crash early in 2020.

Vanessa Bryant announced the launch of the Mambacita clothing line in an Instagram tribute to Gianna, who was also known as Gigi.

The clothing line is being sold through Dannijo, and almost completely sold out on the first day, according to Fox Business.

"When I thought about how best to celebrate Gianna’s birthday with so many who loved her, I knew it had to be a combination of sharing her bright and fun personality with her sense of purpose and passion that would help make a difference in this world," Vanessa wrote on Instagram.

Gigi's basketball nickname was Mambacita, which was similar to her father's nickname of Black Mamba.

"I wish you were here with us. There are no words to express how much I miss you," Vanessa would also write on Instagram.

Lawyers for Kobe's estate have filed at least 13 Mambacita-related trademarks with the US government in the last year, according to CNN.

"The trademark filings made over the course of the past year indicate that Vanessa has been focusing on consolidating rights in all the trademarks associated with Kobe and Gianna into a company that she controls," trademark lawyer Josh Gerben told CNN.

Vanessa said all of the proceeds from the sales of Mambacita gear will go to their non-profit charity, the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.

She had revealed that Kobe's estate and Nike had went their separate ways.

"My hope will always be to allow Kobe's fans to get and wear his products," Vanessa Bryant said in a statement, according to Fox Business.

"I will continue to fight for that. Kobe's products sell out in seconds. That says everything.

"I was hoping to forge a lifelong partnership with Nike that reflects my husband's legacy.

"We will always do everything we can to honor Kobe and Gigi's legacies. That will never change."

Kobe and Gianna Bryant were killed in a helicopter crash in California on January 26, 2020.
