A CANADIAN politician has been slammed for sharing a picture of his wife shoveling snow after a 12-hour shift at the hospital.
Manitoba cabinet minister Jon Reyes has faced backlash from Twitter users who questioned why he didn't help, making a frontline worker do chores after a long exhausting day at work.
Who is the politician's wife shoveling snow?
The woman in the photo is Cynthia, the wife of politician Jon Reyes.
She works as a nurse.
The pair have two children – Reyna, and Miguel.
After the tweet went viral, she defended her husband by tweeting "All I wanted to do was shovel!"
In a lengthy Facebook post, she later explained that shoveling snow is "a great workout, it allowed me to unwind, it’s refreshing after having worn an N95 mask almost the entire night, the weather was mild and it was quiet and peaceful".
