Gleycy Correia often talked about her humble beginnings and early life in Macae, Brazil.

She told her Instagram followers: "I really wasn’t born in a golden cradle, I’m from a very humble family, but I’m so proud of it, really proud.

In 2018, the model competed and took home the win in two beauty pageants.

That year, Gleycy earned the crown for Miss United Continents Brazil and Miss Costa do Sol.

She followed up her aforementioned achievements by continuing to model.

Gleycy also struck up a career as a beautician and makeup artist.

Before her passing, she often posted her work to her followers through social media platforms such as Instagram.

What was Gleycy Correia's cause of death?

In April 2022, Gleycy underwent a tonsil operation.

Five days after the operation, she started to suffer from health complications.

As a result of the surgery's complications, the model entered a coma due to experiencing a hemorrhage and a heart attack.

While she was in her coma, the pageant winner's family took over her social media profiles.

After spending 77 days in a coma, Gleycy was pronounced dead on Monday, June 20.

She was only 27 years old.

Through her Instagram page, her family confirmed her passing with a post on her stories feature.

When news of Gleycy's death circulated, the online tributes began pouring in.

The Miss Brazil organization issued a statement and said: "Gleycy will always be remembered for her enlightened beauty, joy, and empathy."

On behalf of her family, Pastor Jak Abreu paid tribute to Gleycy and revealed what he knew so far.

He said on social media: "God chose this day to collect our princess.

"We know the longing will be immense. But she will now be cheering the sky with her smile."
