A THIEF who stole a woman’s phone was run over by her boyfriend then chased down and beaten by passers-by.
Video shows the unsuspecting victim at standing on the pavement scrolling down her phone only for the armed thief on his bike to snatch it out of her hands.
The 23-year-old woman’s boyfriend had arranged to pick her up at the spot in the Brazilian city of Espirito Santo and happened to pull up just at that moment, Globo reports.
He then ploughed his car into the hapless thief whose bike got caught under the car but managed to get away.
Footage shows the thief hobbling down the road as the woman and her boyfriend, along with passers-by, give chase.
The thief manages to get to a junction but is clearly injured and stumbles to the pavement.
