A California woman has been arrested after authorities say she crashed her car into a tree while engaging in sexual acts with an underage co-worker.
Kimberly Lankford-Carnahan, 30, from Olivehurst, was booked into the Sutter County jail last week on charges of sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation with the threat of retaliation, sending harmful matter to a minor, and threatening a witness.
According to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began unfolding on June 23, when deputies received a report from a mother, saying that her underage son had admitted to having a sexual relationship with his adult co-worker, Carnahan.

The agency has not revealed where Carnahan and the teenage boy worked.
When detectives interviewed the victim, he allegedly told them about a recent incident in which he and Carnahan had crashed into a tree because they were engaging in a sexual act while the woman was driving.
Detectives said they found unspecified evidence corroborating the boy’s account, leading to Carnahan’s arrest.
Carnahan appeared in court for her arraignment on Monday and pleaded not guilty to all the charges against her, reported The Sacramento Bee.
As of Thursday morning, her name did not appear on the list of current inmates at the jail, suggesting that she has been released on bail.
Carnahan is due back in court on July 7 for her next hearing.
