Woman, 39, stabbed to death at house as man, 26, arrested over brutal 'murder'

A MAN has been arrested after a woman was stabbed to death in brutal scenes at a house.

Lucy Clews, 39, was found by cops at a home in Cannock, Staffordshire and died at the scene shortly after.

Ms Clews discovered by officers after a being called out to concerns on the welfare of a woman on Wednesday.

A post mortem found the cause of her death to be as a result of multiple stab wounds.

A 26-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody, being quizzed by officers from Staffordshire Police.

The heartbroken family of Lucy, who lived in Cannock, have today released a tribute to the "special" 39-year-old.

In a statement they said: "We are suffering the terrible sudden loss of a very special granddaughter, daughter and sister.

"Lucy will never be replaced in our hearts and will forever live in our memories.

"We ask for our privacy to be respected as we come to terms with what has happened."

Detective Inspector Cheryl Hannan, of Staffordshire Police, said: "If you have any information about Lucy's movements over the Christmas period, please get in touch.

"Did you see her in the Cannock area or hear from her?"
