Woman, 27, killed in horror crash when she and her boyfriend were forced off the road while being chased ‘by an Albanian gang’ was an ‘innocent victim who had been caught up in a drug debt’
- Amy-rose Wilson, 27, was driving with boyfriend Ryan Paterson, 22, on Saturday
- Couple was chased by a black Mercedes C-Class before crashing into trees
- It’s understood the couple may have been forced off road over a drug debt row
A woman who was killed in a horror chase may have been forced off the road by an Albanian gang – amid claims that she was an ‘innocent victim’ caught up in a deadly drug debt row.
Amy-rose Wilson, 27, and her boyfriend who has been named as Ryan Paterson, 22, were alleged to have been involved in an altercation just moments before Saturday evening’s horror smash.
The couple fled Foundry Street in Falkirk in a silver Vauxhall Vectra, which was chased by a black Mercedes C-Class for around half a mile, before careering into trees and bushes on the B902 New Carron Road at around 6:10pm.
Police Scotland are treating Amy’s death as suspicious and yesterday launched a murder investigation appealing to anyone with information to get in touch. A 39-year-old man who was driving a black Volkswagen Tiguan suffered minor injuries – as did Amy-rose’s boyfriend.
An insider told The Sun: ‘Amy was an innocent victim in this. A gang of Albanians are said to have been owed a lot of money and came looking for it.
‘It was nothing to do with Amy. They’ve been trying to get the money for months and we all knew something really bad would end up happening.’

The publication also reported that Amy-rose and her XL Bully dog breeder boyfriend Ryan were pursued by another car in a similar chase just weeks ago.
The couple told friends they were ‘stalked’ by a group – believed to be different people – in a car and filmed the horror chase along the roads in Falkirk.
Reflecting on the pursuit in April, Amy-rose said on social media at the time: ‘I just drove as normal, I’m not bothered by their childish behaviour & games. They will get bored and move on.’
Ryan – who is understood to still be in hospital – added: ‘They’re actually stalking me sitting at the end of the street.’
Witnesses said on Sunday night that two men jumped out of the C-Class car – one armed with a bat – and tried to grab Ryan. They said Ryan managed to escape and returned to the vehicle but the group proceeded to smash Amy-Rose’s driver side window in.

‘They were all driving like bats out of hell. They definitely looked Eastern European but were speaking English,’ the witness said. Another added: ‘Someone shouted, ‘You’re f***ing dead this time and I mean that’.’
Earlier on Monday, a friend of Amy-rose told MailOnline how they were on the phone together at the time of Saturday’s car chase. ‘Amy had text saying ‘need to come round asap’ – and then she phoned me,’ she told this newspaper. ‘I could hear loads of shouting in the background and Ryan telling her to ‘get in the f****** car and drive’.
‘I asked her what was going on and she said that they needed to come here to get away from people who had bats and poles – and said she would explain to me when she got here.
‘They were on their way to my house when the crash happened. Amy was still on the phone to me when she was driving out of the street and she sounded really scared, she was crying and upset about what was happening.
‘Ryan was telling her not to look back and just drive as fast as she could. My house isn’t far from Foundry Street so I told her to hang up and I’d see her when she got here.
‘I tried to call her again about 15 minutes later because they still hadn’t arrived so I was obviously really panicked she didn’t answer. It wasn’t long after that I read a post on Facebook saying that there had been a crash on New Carron Road.
‘My heart was in my mouth, I knew right away that it was Amy and Ryan. I got in my car and drove to New Carron Road, but it was all taped off by police so I couldn’t really see what cars were involved.
Fighting back tears, Amy’s friend said she was finding it hard to come to terms with what has happened and has described her as one in a million.
She added: ‘I can’t believe it. How can you speak to someone on a phone one second and the next they’re dead. I’m never going to see her again.
‘Amy helped me through loads, she would have done anything for anyone – I know people say this all the time but she really was one in a million. My heart really is broken into a thousand pieces.’

Forensics officers investigate as police call on any witnesses to come forward with any information
Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the areas of New Carron Road and Foundry Street at around 6pm on Saturday evening.
They’re also asking anyone with dash-cam footage or CCTV to get in touch as they say it’s ‘imperative’ to find the occupants of the black Mercedes C-Class.
Detective Inspector Hazel Reid said: ‘Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman at this very difficult time.
‘We have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation and extensive enquiries are ongoing at this time.
‘It is imperative we trace the occupants of the black Mercedes who fled the scene. ‘We believe this vehicle has pursued the Vauxhall in a dangerous fashion, resulting in a crash with the Volkswagen Tiguan.
‘Officers are gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area and door to door enquiries are also being carried out. I am keen to speak to anyone with any private CCTV, dashcam or any other footage they think would assist the enquiry.
‘We will have a continued police presence in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.
‘It is vital that we find out more about what has happened as soon as we can and I would urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible, no matter how insignificant it might seem.
‘Officers can also be contacted by calling 101 and quoting reference 2938 of Saturday, 29 July, 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.’
