A WOMAN out walking was pulled to the ground with a rope around her neck in a horrific attack by a predator.
The same attacker had battered another woman over the head and left her on the pavement covered in blood just a day earlier.
Tyler Cortis, 23, has been sentenced to almost four years in prison for the mystery attacks which happened on consecutive days in his home town of Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
Police said that he had been arrested the day after the rope incident and later charged with two counts of causing actual bodily harm.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "A man has been jailed for 46 months after he attacked two lone women on two consecutive nights in Trowbridge.
"Tyler Cortis, of Lamb Ale Green, Trowbridge, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court after admitting two counts of causing actual bodily harm.

"On September 4 last year, a woman aged in her 30s was walking home alone at approximately 8.30pm when Cortis followed her through an alleyway near Bramley Lane before hitting her over the head with an unknown object, leaving her covered in blood on the ground.
"She was found by a passer-by and taken to hospital with a laceration which required stitches.
"The following day, he launched a separate attack on a woman aged in her 20s as she walked alone in the Longfield Estate.
“He approached her from behind and pulled her to the floor with a rope around her neck.

"Cortis was arrested later that day for the second assault and inquiries by officers led to him also being arrested for the assault the previous day.
"He was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment for the first offence and 22 months imprisonment for the second assault – the sentences will be served consecutively meaning he will serve 46 months in prison.
"A seven year restraining order was also put in place."
Detective constable James Gatherum said: “Cortis launched attacks on two women when they were both walking alone of an evening. His actions caused them to feel extremely vulnerable and frightened and I know they continue to feel this way, months after the attacks.

"One of the victims tells me she always feels anxious when out and about and is always looking over her shoulder thinking the same thing will happen again.
“It is completely unacceptable that one person’s actions should make others feel frightened, upset, anxious and scared."
