Woman's body pulled from west London lake as cops open probe into mysterious death

A WOMAN'S body has been found in a lake in London today as cops open a probe into the mysterious death.

The woman – believed to be in her 50s – was found dead in a lake next to a road in Stanmore around 6.30am this morning.


It's unclear how she ended up in the water.

There is a large police presence at the scene including a forensics tent, Harrow Online reported.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to Howard Road, Stanmore at 6.29 on Sunday following reports that a body had been seen in a lake.

“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics. The body of a deceased woman, believed to be approximately 50 years of age, was recovered from the water with assistance from the London Fire Brigade.

“Enquiries are under way to determine how the woman came to enter the water.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101, providing the reference 2099/27JUN.”
