WW3 fears rise as Russia, China and India militaries join in ‘show of unity’

Fresh World War Three fears have been sparked after a joint military operation was carried out between Russia, China and India.

The drills, commentators say, are designed to demonstrate a closer military relationship between Russia and China, both of which are currently experiencing tensions with the USA.

The Vostok 2022 manoeuvres also see forces from Syria taking part and are set to last a week.

Vostok, or East, started on Thursday (September 10 and comes at a particularly important time given Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and China and the US’ tensions over Taiwan.

It will run until Wednesday (September 7) and is taking place in the far east of Russia, in the wild and isolated Siberia stretching also into the Japan Sea.

According to Al Jazeera, the mammoth war games are seeing some 50,000 troops, 5,000 weapons units and 14 aircraft and 60 warships taking part.
