WWE legend The Iron Sheik has launched another scathing attack on long-time rival Hulk Hogan, just hours after being named on a list of people who could be named as the next Pope.

Sheik, 81, whose real name is Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, has made a name for himself by being very vocal on Twitter about Hogan.

His tweets normally consist of telling anyone and everyone (mainly Hogan) to “GO F**K YOURSELVES” in capital letters.

And more often than not, he aims those tweets at controversial former WWE champion Hogan.

Earlier this week, Iran-born Sheik was named on a list of potential replacements for Pope Francis I.

The list was mainly topped by cardinals, such as Luis Tagle, Marc Ouellet and Peter Erdo – no, me neither – but also on the list was the former bad guy of WWE.

Compiled by Bovada Casino, Sheik was given odds of 100,000/1 to be the next Pope.

This sparked a hilarious response from the mouthy legend, who tweeted: “GOD BLESS EVERYONE EXCEPT THAT DUMB SON OF A B***H HULK HOGAN.”

His tweet was liked more than 1,700 times, and viewed around 160k times.

And it seems like many people would be happy with Sheik as their new religious leader.

One wrote: “You get my vote for next Pope.”

And another added: “I'll place a $100 bet on SHEIKY BABY at those odds please!”

A third added, referencing the Iron Sheik's former in-ring finishing move: “You'd be perfect as Pope.

“Put the devil in the Camel Clutch, break his back and make him humble!”

Oddly, there is no hint that 86-year-old Pope Francis is going to stand down from his role any time soon.

The Argentinian was appointed to the role in March, 2013, after Pope Benedict XVI resigned due to old age.

He was 85 and 318 days at the time – which would mean that the Iron Sheik could take on the role and have several decent years at the helm.
