It’s the summer of solar if you hadn’t heard. First, Lorde dropped single Solar Power, and now Glossier have launched their first ever bronzer, Solar Paint.
The gel-cream bronzer came out in the UK today, but has already got itself a 4.7 star rating from beauty lovers across the pond.
Cult brand Glossier claims: ‘The almost-whipped gel crème is infused with Desert Milk (a micro-emulsion of plant oils and extracts like Jojoba and Aloe) to condition and nourish, and has a natural-effect finish that blends seamlessly with the heat of your fingers.’
The four bronzer shades were community tested, and there are rich terra-cottas for darker skin tones, as well as more pearl/gold shades for those who are paler.
Unlike some bronzers on the market, Solar Paint uses a doe-foot applicator. This means you can pinpoint where you apply, and lends itself to contour as well as an overall sunkissed look.
According to Glossier, the aim with Solar Paint was to create a bronzer that looks natural in natural light, which isn’t always the case.
Reviews seem to suggest they’ve got it just right, as one reads: ‘It blends seamlessly on the skin and is very user friendly for someone who normally doesn’t apply bronzer! I feel like it gives me that perfect barely-there contour with just a bit of added glow!’
As with other Glossier products, this one is vegan and cruelty-free. It’s also buildable (much like the brand’s other ‘minimalist makeup’), so you can amp up the colour when you fancy by applying more.
Solar Paint costs £17, or can be bought with Lidstar eyeshadow in a bundle for £28.
