Gorilla Glue woman arrives in LA and has first treatment to remove adhesive

We are totally invested in Tessica Brown – the unsuspecting woman who applied super strong Gorilla Glue to her hair.

The 40-year-old from Louisiana has struggled for the past month to get the adhesive out of her hair but to no avail.

The mum went to the hospital, she went to the salon, but each time, attempts to clear her head left Tessica in pain with severe headaches, and still with the glue stuck to her scalp.

After having her ponytail cut off this week, Tessica flew to LA to meet a cosmetic doctor who offered his services to get rid of her matted hairdo.

Tessica has now arrived in LA, where she has had her first treatment.

Paparazzi images show Tessica leaving Dr Michael Obeng’s office after he claimed the $12,000 (£8,680) treatment would be free for her.

She was seen leaving the premises with a white sheet covering her head as she hid from prying eyes.

Tessica may need a few more visits before the adhesive is completely removed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tessica at this time.

Tessica amused the world after she released a TikTok explaining how she had run out of her usual hair spray and hurriedly grabbed the Gorilla Glue.

Assuming the glue would wash out, Tessica applied it to her head, only to realise that shampoos, conditioners and oils weren’t doing the job to get it out.

She then turned to online help, posting a video on TikTok to explain her mishap.

The video immediately took off, being watched by millions around the world on several platforms including YouTube and Twitter.

Since living with the painful condition for a month, Tessica decided to set up a GoFundMe page, with the target of $1,500 (£1,085) to pay for medical bills and any wigs she may need.

But the crowdfunding page blew up, amassing more than $19,000 (£13,744).

Despite the viral fame, Tessica says she didn’t expect or want all the attention.

‘I never was going to take this to social media. The reason I took this to social media was because I didn’t know what else to do,’ she said on Entertainment Tonight.

‘And I know somebody out there could have told me something. I didn’t think for one second when I got up the next morning it was gonna be everywhere.’

The mum has received some negative comments but also won support from esteemed names including Missy Elliott, Chance the Rapper, and Beyoncé’s hairstylist, Neal Farinah, who offered her a wig.

Dr. Obeng was another person who wanted to help Tessica after all her failed attempts at fixing her hair.

‘When I found out this was a reality, you can only feel compassion and sympathy for Tessica,’ Dr. Obeng told KCBS-TV.

The doctor revealed that Tessica is recovering well after the first procedure.

We really hope it works out.
