Olivia Rodrigo Tried Many Different Nail Art Designs Before Landing on This Manicure For the AMAs
Tonight is the 2021 American Music Awards, and it’s also Olivia Rodrigo’s AMAs debut. The “Sour” singer is heading into the night with seven nominations, and judging by her red carpet look, she dressed to win. With some help from a stacked glam team of hairstylist Clayton Hawkins, makeup artist Molly Greenwald, and manicurist Brittney Boyce, Rodrigo looked amazing from head to toe with her extra-long mermaid waves and brushed up brows, but we couldn’t help but notice an extra fun detail hidden on her nails.
Boyce created a negative space nail art design across all 10 of Rodrigo’s fingers. Each nail features a different abstract shape in black nail polish. (Not just any nail polish, of course — it’s from Machine Gun Kelly’s soon-to-launch nail polish brand UN/DN LAQR.)
“She wanted something that was classy with a cool vibe,” Boyce told POPSUGAR. “This design is very universal and wearable. It goes with everything, and while it is different, it still stays relevant with today’s hottest nail trends.”
