Queen Elizabeth has revealed a post-Platinum-Jubilee-celebration haircut. The queen, who typically keeps her hair in tight, ear-length curls, subtly showed off a shorter cut on the official royal-family Instagram account a few days ago.

In the photo, the queen’s hair now ends right above her ears and is much more closely cut to her head than it was previously. The caption reads, “Today at Windsor Castle, The Queen received the Archbishop of Canterbury @justinwelby for an Audience. In this #PlatinumJubilee year, the Archbishop presented Her Majesty with a special ‘Canterbury Cross’ in recognition of her service to the Church of England over seventy years.”

Followers quickly posted comments such as “Did her majesty cut her hair?” and “She changed her hair, so sweet ❤️.” As the queen’s celebrations have gone on, we’ve seen quite a few beauty moments (especially at the most recent event for her 70th anniversary since ascending the throne), including Meghan Markle’s milk-bath manicure. It was the perfect accessory for her ensemble as she appeared at the Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Princess Eugene, for her part, gave us an example of satin skin done right.

There will surely be more beauty moments to come throughout the Platinum Jubilee year, but for now, take a closer look at the queen’s haircut below.
