The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a red-carpet appearance at the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala in New York City on Wednesday evening. Meghan wore a stunning red gown by Carolina Herrera for the event, which honored military veterans for their service. Though Meghan’s gown was clearly the showstopping element of her look, her makeup was equal parts gorgeous and glowy, thanks to her longtime makeup artist and friend, Daniel Martin.
To complement her crimson gown, Martin reached for an unexpected shade of purple eyeliner drawn into an elegant wing. He kept the duchess’s skin luminous and fresh, with a pop of shimmery warm blush on her cheekbones. Martin chose a matte classic-pick color for her lips and filled in her brows so they were defined but still soft and natural.
Shop Meghan’s Favorites
Lucky for us, the makeup artist shared a quick video on Instagram Stories showing off all the specific products he used last night. Martin is the global director of artistry and education for Tatcha, so it’s no surprise that he prepped Meghan’s skin with all her (alleged) favorites: The Essence, Water Cream, Kissu Lip Mask, and Liquid Silk Canvas. We even heard that he previewed a brand-new Tatcha Water product last night that won’t be released for several months.
For her brows, Martin used Lamik Beauty’s Revelation Brow Duo powder. For her eyes and liner, he reached for Danessa Myricks Beauty’s sold-out Lightwork Volume III – Infinite Light Eye & Face Palette (it’s coming back soon!) and Byredo’s Waterproof Mascara. We also spotted a tube of Sisley Paris’s Phyto-Cernes Éclat Eye Concealer in the back. Finally, it looks like the duchess used Costa Brazil’s Kaya Jungle Firming Oil on her body for extra sheen and moisture.
