Since Sofia Richie tied the knot with music producer Elliot Grainge last week, we’ve all been swooning over the super-chic ceremony.

Pictures of the wedding, held in the South of France and attended by the likes of Cameron Diaz, have been a huge hit on Instagram on TikTok, where fans praised everything from the sumptuous floral arrangements to the outfits.

The bride had three custom dresses created by Chanel for the weekend: one for the rehearsal dinner, one for the official nuptials, and another for the afterparty. And, of course, her nails were tailored to each event too.

Nail artist Georgia Rae revealed how she’d given Sofia two different manicures for the rehearsal and ceremony, each with a slightly different yet similar pared-back vibe.

The rehearsal dinner nails were painted in OPI’s Funny Bunny shade, a sheer white polish that complimented the model’s embellished gown beautifully – and it’s not unlike the Lip Gloss nails we’ve been seeing everywhere recently.

For the wedding itself, Georgia opted for Sweet Candy Breath by Bio Sculpture (now sold out) which provided a wash of soft pink nude to create the perfect ‘barely there’ bridal mani.

Recreating the model and fashion designer’s elegant nail look is more than just the colours, though.

Sofia is known for her minimalist but put-together style, and the manicure she chose for her big day(s) reflects this.

Alongside the muted pearlescent hues used, she kept her signature square shape without extensions, with healthy cuticles adding to the refined feel.

‘The great benefit of this style is that it means that you’re much less likely to catch your nails on your delicate wedding dress or veil,’ say the experts at SpaSeekers.

To get the same effect at home, they add: ‘Simply file your nails flat on top, and then ensure the corners of your nails are rounded off.’

Don’t dismiss the groundwork either, as healthy nail beds are key.

‘Yes, you want your nails to be looking fantastic, but the whole look comes together when your hands and cuticles look perfect too,’ say the SpaSeekers team.

‘In the lead up to the wedding day, make sure to be regularly moisturising your hands and using cuticle oil – and book in a cuticle trim for the day of the wedding.’

Try to use a light touch with the polish you end up going for. Manicurist Georgia used a single coat of OPI for Sofia’s semi-sheer look, and this can be useful if you don’t want your hands to stand out against the dress.

Sophisticated elegance is the aesthetic you’re going for, so keep nails simple and let your inner Richie shine through.
