A right royal move! Zara Tindall says she and Mike are thinking about moving to Australia

Zara andMike Tindall are currently on holiday in Australia – and it has emerged the royal couple would consider a permanent move Down Under.

Princess Anne’s daughter, 41, and her ex-England rugby star husband, 44, are currently in Queensland for the Magic Millions horse racing event.

Zara, who is an equestrian who has competed in the Olympics, was announced as the first Magic Millions Racing Women Ambassador in 2012.

She and Mike now travel to Surfers Paradise in Queensland every year for the Gold Coast Yearling Sale, which is seven days of auctions that culminate in a weekend of major racing.

The couple have been lapping up the sun in their annual trip Down Under following Mike’s stint onI’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! last month – which hefinished in fourth place.

They currently live on Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate, in Gloucestershire, with their three children, Mia, Lena and Lucas.

But, speaking toAustralian Women's Weekly in 2019, Zara said that the couple would consider a permanent move to Australia.

She said: “Probably not while I'm still competing. It would be a little bit hard commuting. But after that … yes, I think if an opportunity came up we'd definitely think about it.”

Mike revealed on I’m A Celeb how he met Zara in Sydney during the Rugby World Cup in 2003 and the Australian way of life is said to suit the laidback couple perfectly.

They now see Australia as their second home and eagerly look forward to their annual January jaunt to the country.

Mike said: "Early January is bleak over here so it's nice to go and have a bit of sun. I love the lifestyle of Australia and the ability to get up early, go on the beach – especially for the kids, taking them in the ocean is brilliant.

"I just think the people over in Australia are so laidback and they have good banter. No one's worried about talking to each other. It's not a rushed lifestyle. I think it's a great place and we enjoy it so much."

The down to earth royal couple were pictured arriving in South Australia early in December –carrying their own luggage through Adelaide airport.

The couple were then spotted rubbing shoulders with A-list Australian actorChris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky at the 2023 Magic Millions Polo and Showjumping event.

The foursome appeared to be having fun at the annual event in Queensland, with Zara and Elsa both sporting vibrant blue frocks for the outing.

The event also gave Zara the opportunity toshowcase her polo skills.

And the couple have remained silent over the drama surroundingPrince Harry’s bookSpare – simplyenjoying their Australian getaway instead.
